Prescription 4 Safety.

Falls

  • Always keep your baby in sight. Place car seats, baby chairs, and bassinets on the floor, and use safety straps in chairs, strollers, and other baby equipment to prevent falls (Alberta Health Services, 2024).
  • Install and secure wall-mounted stair gates at the top and bottom of stairs. Keep windows, balconies, and furniture properly childproofed to prevent accidents (Alberta Health Services, 2024).
  • Anchor heavy furniture to the wall using anchor straps to prevent tipping. Keep floors clear, and adjust cribs as your baby grows to avoid climbing and tripping hazards (Alberta Health Services, 2024).
