Injury Prevention Centre's

Prescription 4 Safety

Falls

  • As children often fall when climbing on or off furniture, it is important for caregivers to actively supervise them (Injury Prevention Centre, 2018).
  • Choose playgrounds with soft ground cover like wood chips, sand, pea gravel, or rubber.
  • Ensure the playground equipment is appropriate for your child's age, size, and ability. Often signs at playgrounds will note the age range best suited to use the equipment.
